Mark Allan is a professional pop music photographer and was the official Top Of The Pops photographer for years. He has snapped high profile faces like Tony Blair and one promotional work for bands like U2.
He wanted to put some of his images online, but wanted to minimize the chance of them being downloaded and used without his consent.
acmConsulting put together a system which allowed him to upload and update the site, as well as preventing people from downloading the images.
The main focus of the site is the gallery, which was to be Flash powered to protect the images from direct download and to allow for a much richer user experience.
The site is powered by a open source gallery management system which was enhanced by us to include a content management system (CMS) for the rest of the site.
The systems both use PHP, outputting the results in XML for Flash as well as standard HTML.
