The site was both a full scale content management system (CMS) as well as a newsletter system with elements of a social network. Administrators can control all the content on the site as well as how members of the site communicate. Due to the user generated content there is also a submit/review/publish work flow to insure only valid content makes it onto the site.
acmConsulting was contracted onto this project by Raw Nerve LTD as the technical implementation behind their design expertises.
The site uses cakePHP as its base for development, this gives a very solid foundation on which to build. All of the images and some of the header images are generated and cached on the fly, so no re-sizing of images is required.
The site has a fully features CMS for the main pages, as well as a blog/news system complete with send to friend functionality. The newsletter system is integrated into the site and newsletters are created using a simple interface before being sent out via the sites internal mail system.
Users registering on the site do so as Creative or Service provider, each role having its own permissions and features, all of which can be administered and controlled.
